The Earth Law Center Online Community

Welcome to the access page for the Earth Law Center Online Community. 

This online hub, hosted by the Earth Law Center (ELC), is like a town square. Anyone is invited to come and engage with others who are involved with, or newly curious about, the world of Earth law. You'll find discussion boards, virtual events, and other offerings you can freely join. And adjacent to the town square are also "gated" offerings (some free, some paid), such as semi-private discussion or work groups, as well as CLE courses for lawyers.

The Earth law movement (also referred to as ecocentric law or Earth jurisprudence) includes the Rights of Nature, legal guardianships of Nature, ecocide, Indigenous Earth law, human environmental rights, rights of future generations, species rights, and more. Here are a few points about what makes our community special:

• It's where we host the annual Earth Law Summer Course (open to lawyers for CLE credits, law students, undergrads, and anyone seeking a thorough overview of the state of the field), other CLE offerings for legal professionals, discussion boards on various Earth law topics, and much more.
• We've got Spaces to organize our activity, Search to find what you're looking for, and Save Posts for you to quickly come back to your favorites.
• You can direct message. You can also post and have threaded conversations.
• You'll see notices here for virtual sessions and in-person events.
• We can keep conversations and messaging going before, during, and after our events.

This online community is thus a place you can visit anytime to find out what's happening at ELC and in the world of ecocentric law more broadly. We also encourage you to visit our website, subscribe to our newsletter, and check out our blog.
